![]() Anthony Bourdain ► Anthony Bourdain is a famous American chef whose popularity in Japan rose after of his praises on Japanese cuisine in his show No Reservations. Years after his show, Bourdain takes pride as a food critic, often writing and sampling some of the best cuisines in the world. The street Rue Bourdain was named in honor of him. It’s said that Bourdain takes pride in the restaurant of Rue Bourdain that he keeps a close eye on their performance. ► ![]() Takasugi Shinsuke (THEFUCKINGARMANDLIMB MARKET MAN) ► Also known as the One-Eyed Snake of Tokyo. As head of the ruling gang in the area, Takasugi is also the master of the black market – the food stuff that they deal in is definitely no exception. ► Those ingredients you’ve always wanted but can never get because it’s, well, illegal or extremely difficult to secure? Takasugi has them, and more… he even provides other services, if you know what we mean. The only problem is that Takasugi is an extremely eccentric, temperamental man – your goods (and your well-being) are reliant on his whims. ► ![]() Sasagawa Ryohei (Regular Market man) ► Market dude by morning, boxer by afternoon, husband at night. Given the fact that he’s the loud one that comes in at six AM sharp every single day, it’s hard to miss him. ► Ryohei delivers all of the goods to Rue Bourdain straight from Tsukiji – well, the regular stuff, anyway. Anything beyond what’s usually available has to come from someone else. ► ![]() Urahara Kisuke (Manager of the Market) ► The manager of the Market. Technically Ryohei’s boss. ► He does nothing. Seriously. ![]() Rufus Shinra (Loan Shark for the small fish) ► The White Prince of the local business world – he’s risen to the top on his own merit alone with his smooth talk and cutthroat techniques. ► Rufus is the loan shark for all the minor transactions… he’s a trufax businessman who likes to guard his assets well, and as such, risks are undesirable for him. Hence, it’s pretty safe to deal with this one if you’re looking for small to mid-range amounts. ► ![]() Balalaika (Loan Shark for the big fish) ► An intimidating woman who earned the name Scar Face because of her looks, Balalaika is another renowned businesswoman on the scene. Her connections to the Russian mafia, however, are no real secret to anyone. ► Balalaika is the woman to go to for the bigger, more serious loans. She’s a hell lot more scarier, however, than Rufus, and also more willing to bust some balls (or pull out some entrails) if one doesn’t pay up. ► ![]() Kawakami Bansai (Regional/Imported items Man) ► Working under Takasugi Shinsuke, Bansai’s in charge of handling special regional and imported products that are hard to acquire through the local market. Unlike Takasugi, Bansai won’t extend the favor by finding the product for you. He’ll offer what he can and that’s about it. He’s quite a sly guy to deal with but with a bit of smooth talking and a fair price, he could get your ingredients to you when you need it the most. ► ![]() Ishu (The nicer rare items) ► Running a small international postal service, Ishu delivers rare seasonal international products that are harder to acquire through the local market. She is easier to deal with compared to Bansai but unlike Bansai, she’s a lot harder to flag down. She’ll only pop up when she’s got the items so if you want your rare stuff without having to sell your soul to Takasugi, be sure to be on the look out for Ishu. ► ![]() Doujima Ryuutarou & Sanada Akihiko (Detectives) ► The detectives assigned to Kichijouji, and regular customers at most of joints in the area, with Yugao and Tratorria Cavallone being no exception. They’re partners and old friends, and perhaps the nicest guys you could ever meet even if they’re a little rough around the edges. ► The staple law enforcement dudes in the game. Come to them if you’ve got any problems… they’ll move mountains for you. Usually. ► ![]() Sheryl Nome (Prissy, bitchy health inspector) ► An idol turned health inspector. She’s still a diva even in her new job, and while she’s extremely good at what she does, she can also be the prissiest, bitchiest person you’ve ever met. ► Pro-tip: DO NOT GET ON HER BAD SIDE, especially when it’s her time of the month. A word from her can make or break your restaurant. ► ![]() Haydee Tebelin (Food critic) ► An elegant young woman and the darling of high society. She’s a multi-talented person who has started dabbling in writing about food. ► While she’s very nice, pleasant and fair, Haydee is also extremely critical about whatever she puts into her mouth. Still, she’s a lot more approachable than most of the types that come in, so seeing her around is usually a good thing. [a mystery diner!] ► ![]() Sasagawa Lissuria (Nutritionist) ► Diligent wife in the morning. Nutritionist by the afternoon. Sweet lover by night. Sasagawa Lissuria is a dedicated nutritionist who always has Japan’s healthcare (actually, just her husband’s) in mind. Watch her make marked notes of your restaurant’s calorie count. If it’s making Japan (Ryohei) fat, then you’re going to hear a lecture from the fabulous Lissuria. ![]() Ichihara Yuuko (the AMAZING food critic) ► The chairman of Japan’s Michelin guide, Yuuko knows what makes and breaks a restaurant. With a delicate tongue that can distinguish the flavors between a sea bream and pacific saury, Yuuko has the ability to understand the balance of flavors in a dish. Her elite upbringing also gives her the power to discern the efficiency of a restaurant’s waiting staff. ► If you want to gain some Michelin stars, make sure your restaurant does it best when Yuuko’s around. ► ![]() Naoto [Freuling] Hibari (the Mother) ► The old Skylark of Tokyo, recently retired due to personal reasons. It apparently has nothing to do with health, though, as Naoto has still been spotting kicking around the area. Literally. ► Not so much of a big player as she is someone to watch out for when she actually shows up. It’s not too hard to miss her, given the fact that she’s the stunningly beautiful woman surrounded by waves upon waves of rough-looking types in suits. ► ![]() Madame Red (Regular Customer ► Regular customer at the restaurants of Rue Bourdain. A lady of good taste, this cougar has a fondness for red, seafood, and cute, younger men. She also seems to have an endless pocket, owing not only to her profession as a doctor, but from her marriage to a wealthy man, too. ► Her favorites change from week to week, but she lavishes a lot of money and attention on the (un)fortunate souls she's set her sights on. Hey, at least you'll get amazing tip. She's playful and mostly harmless, but take note of her temper. Red is her color for a reason. |
